Dear George

Dear George,
I completely think what you did was the right thing.  If you hadn't done it Curley would have done it and let him suffer.  "Shoot for the guts.  That'll double 'im over." pg. 95  If you would have let Curley get to him he would have died slowly and painfully.
Also since you killed him while he was thinking about the farm and rabbits you said you would get he died happy.  "Lennie giggled with happieness." pg 103  Rather than him died at the hands of an angry person who made him afraid, he died at the hands of someone who actually cared about him.  Also the way you shot him made him die instantly and painlessly, unlike if Curley of Slim shot him with the shotgun.

Of Mice and Men Part Two

I think Lennie is afraid to stay because he remembers what happened in the last town they worked in and doesn't want to repeat that event.  He is afraid that since Curley is known for picking fights with bigger guys and that he try to fight him.  I don't think Lennie likes to hurt people I think people just assume since he is so big that he is automatically a mean person.  If Curley does then Lennie would probably be fired since Curley is the bosses son.  Also I think he gets angry really easily and he realizes it and wants to keep from getting angry because he know that its not good to.  And also might not want to get angry because he doesn't like how it feels.

Sorry for having no quotes but the book I have is "Reading on Of Mice and Men" not the actual book, I'll have the real book by Monday.
